National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM)Karnataka Chapter

Karnataka Chapter of NIPM was founded in 1960 at Bangalore with its original name being Indian Institute of Personnel Management, Mysore Chapter. Over the last four decades, the Chapter has made tremendous progress and today it is recognized as one of the leading professional management associations in Karnataka. Through its various programs and activities in Bangalore and other cities, it covers a wide variety of topics in Human Resource Management; it has the distinction of being one of the most vibrant professional bodies in the state of Karnataka with a membership of over 750. Being one of the most active branches in the country, the Karnataka Chapter has received number of awards and has also produced dynamic HR professionals who have risen to positions of Regional Vice Presidents, National Presidents and Fellows of the Institute.

 Karnataka Chapter has also the distinction of hosting the first ever International Conference - Asia Pacific Human Resource Management Conference in 1995 and also the International HR Confluence in 2006 on Enabling Execution Excellence. The Chapter has also hosted four National and seven Regional conferences during the past 45 years of its standing. The Chapter publishes a quarterly journal 'The Human Resource' consisting of illuminating and widely acclaimed articles. And also has to its pride, the first ever tie-up with the internationally acclaimed Indian Institute of Science for facilitating academic-professional interaction.

In order to manage funds effectively and for tax advantage, NIPM Karnataka Education & Development Trust Fund was created in 1982. It is managed by a group of Trustees who are invariably past-Chairmen of Karnataka Chapter with the chapter Chairman as the Convener, and a few senior members as Advisors.  A major long term objective is to acquire a dream infrastructure in Bangalore for the Chapter activities, for which efforts are being made to collect adequate funds.
